Azerbaijani representative Aydin Suleymanli achieved an important victory in the international "Tata Steel Challengers" chess tournament continuing in the Netherlands. In the 12th round, our grandmaster defeated French chess player Marc-Andrea Maurizzi.
İdman.Biz reports that after this victory, Suleymanli scored nine points and shares the first and second places with American Andy Woodward.
According to additional indicators, the Azerbaijani chess player is in the first place in the tournament table. The competition is held in a round-robin system with the participation of 14 chess players.
The tournament also features famous Ukrainian grandmaster Vasyl Ivanchuk and three-time world blitz champion Bibisara Asaubaeva.
It should be noted that the "Tata Steel Challengers" tournament consists of 13 rounds and will end on February 1.
