Araz Musayev, the president of the Azerbaijan Muay Thai Federation, was stabbed by two people during the IFMA U23 Muay Thai World Championship held in Kemer district of Antalya.
İdman.biz reports, citing unikal.az, that the perpetrators are Azerbaijani citizens.
They fled the scene by taxi to Antalya Airport. However, police detained the Azerbaijanis at the airport.
It should be noted that the incident took place in Atatürk Sports Palace located in Göynük municipality. According to reports, Araz Musayev, the president of the Azerbaijan Muay Thai Federation, was stabbed by two people during the championship held at Atatürk Sports Palace.
After initial treatment by health teams in the palace, Araz Musayev was taken to Kemer State Hospital by ambulance. After the intervention here, Musayev was transferred to Antalya City Hospital and operated on. His treatment continues.
An investigation is underway in coordination with the Kemer District Republican Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.
