The U-23 European Wrestling Championship is ongoing in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
According to Idman.Biz, Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Ceyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg) has advanced to the final on the second day of the competition.
Ceyhun Allahverdiyev defeated Bashir Alili, representing North Macedonia, with a score of 12:5 in the semi-final.
Aghanez Novruzov, wrestling at 74 kg, lost to Frenchman Seyfulla Itayev with a score of 2:7 in the semi-final and will wrestle for a bronze medal tomorrow.

It was reported that our wrestler Yusif Dursunov, representing our country in the 125 kg weight category, advanced to the 1/4 finals with a full advantage (10:0) in the match against Romanian Brian Samuel Techereanu. Y.Dursunov defeated Armenian wrestler Khachatur Khachatryan 9:3 in the next stage and advanced to the semi-finals.
In addition, Ramik Heybatov, who represents our country in the 70 kg weight category, won a convincing victory over his Georgian opponent in the consolation match. He was superior to Goga Otinashvili with a score of 6:2. Heybatov will wrestle for a bronze medal in the evening session.
Aghanez Novruzov, who competes in the 74 kg weight category, started the competition with a victory. Our wrestler won against Turkish Muhammad Halit Ozmush with a score of 4:1 and advanced to the 1/4 final stage. Novruzov also performed successfully in his next match, defeating Moldovan Ion Marku with a score of 6:1 and qualifying for the semi-finals.
Ali Tsokayev, who competes in the 92 kg weight category, won a full advantage (13:0) over Bulgarian Sali Saliyev and advanced to the 1/4 final stage.

Also today, Vasif Baghirov (57 kg) and Sabuhi Amiraslanov (79 kg) will wrestle in the final, and Musa Aghayev (65 kg) and Zafar Aliyev (97 kg) will wrestle for a bronze medal. Ramik Heybatov (70 kg) will participate in a consolation match.
