Gultakin Shirinova (55 kg) won a silver medal at the U-23 European Championship.

Azerbaijani wrestler Ruzanna Mammadova (in the 62 kg weight category) qualified for the final of the European Championship among wrestlers under 23, held in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
