The U-17 World Wrestling Championship continues in Athens, the capital of Greece.
Idman.biz reports that freestyle wrestlers started the competition on the fifth day of the World Cup.
Two of our wrestlers who took to the mat have qualified for the semifinals.

Ravan Hasanzada advanced to the semifinals, defeating Belarusian Makar Markovich (UWW) with a full advantage (12:0) and Uzbek Jahangir Tulkunov with a score of 4:2. Ravan will wrestle American Ariah Mills in the semifinals.

Ruslan Alizade defeated Moldovan Dan Bulgaru and Canadian Aaharen Piranavan 10:0, but lost to Russian Chingis Saryglar (UWW) 8:9 in the 1/4 finals.

Huseyn Ismayilov defeated Canadian Liam Gorton 4:2, Greek Konstantinos Michailidis with a full advantage (11:0), and Kyrgyz Adisbek Altynbekov with a score of 2:1. Our wrestler will face Kazakh Yerali Askerbek in the semifinals.

Nihad Suleymanli won his debut match against Armenian Vache Aslanyan with a score of 7:1. However, Nihad, who lost the victory 3 seconds before the end in the 1/8 finals, lost to Russian Issa Zangiyev (UWW) with a score of 5:7.

Hakim Tagiyev defeated Belarusian Mikita Tkachik (UWW) with a full advantage (10:0) and American Alexander Taylor with a score of 7:6. Our wrestler lost to Russian European champion Magomedrasul Omarov (UWW) with a score of 0:5 in the 1/4 finals.
The semifinals will start at 18:00 Baku time.
It should be noted that the World Championship will end on August 3.
