Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg) and Arseniy Cioyev (86 kg) will wrestle for bronze medals at the World Championship held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
Idman.biz reports that both wrestlers retained their chances for medals by winning their consolation matches.
Novruzov first defeated Ecuadorian Joshua Kramer (because his opponent was injured) and then defeated Ukrainian Kamil Kerimov with a score of 12:2. He will face Korean Kum Hyuk Kim in the bronze medal match.
Cioyev defeated Ukrainian Magomed Aliyev with a score of 7:2 in another consolation match. His opponent in the bronze medal match will be Rahim Magomedov, who represents France.
The bronze medal matches and the final match will be held this evening. In the final, our wrestler Georgi Meshvidjishvili (125 kg) will duel with Amir Hossein Zare (Iran) this evening.

In the heavyweight division (125 kg), Olympic-2024 bronze medalist Giorgi Meshvildishvili will compete in the final match to win the title of world champion. His opponent will be Iranian wrestler, bronze medalist of Tokyo-2020 and silver medalist of Paris-2024, Amir Hossein Zare.
It should be noted that Meshvildishvili will win a medal at the world championship for the first time. He has previously climbed the podium 3 times at European championships - bronze in 2023 and 2024, and gold in 2025.
