The United World Wrestling (UWW) has announced the ranking tables in which Azerbaijani athletes are leading in several categories.
Idman.biz reports that among Greco-Roman wrestlers, four-time world champion Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg), as well as Nihat Mammadli (63 kg) and Ulvi Ganizade (72 kg), who became world champions last year in non-Olympic weights, are in the first position.
Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg), the winners of the recent continental championship, are third in the ranking, while Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg) is fourth.
The highest indicator in freestyle wrestling belongs to Olympic bronze medalist Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg). He is in third place.
Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg) and 2024 Olympic bronze medalist Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) are one step away from the top three. They are in fourth place.
