"Amirreza Masoumi, one of the most promising wrestlers on the planet, was spotted in one of the trainings in Baku. Masoumi posted photos on his social network account first from Yerevan, and then from Baku. In addition, a photo of the Iranian training at the camp of the Azerbaijani national team appeared on the Internet. This indicates that negotiations between the Asian world champion and the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation have been successfully completed.
Earlier, the head of the Iranian Wrestling Federation criticized Masoumi and removed him from the national team. Despite the wrestler's initial contact with the Armenian Federation, it is quite possible that Azerbaijan will become Masoumi's new sports homeland."
It should be noted that Amirreza Masoumi has six medals at the world championships in the U17, U20 and U23 age categories. He is also the 2025 Asian Champion and the winner of the ranking tournament held in Zagreb (2025).
