Budapest: Nihat Mammadli in the final, Sanan Suleymanov and Murad Ahmadiev will wrestle for a bronze medal

A rating tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling is being held in Budapest.

Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani representatives are also fighting for victory in the competition.

Nihat Mammadli defeated Seunghak Kim of Korea (9:0), Mehrac Bahramov of Uzbekistan (4:0) and Georgi Tibilov of Serbia (3:2) and advanced to the final. Nihat will wrestle Sumit Sumit from India in the final.

Ilkin Gurbanov lost to Galim Kabdunassarov of Kazakhstan with a score of 1:9 in the 1/8 final.

Ziya Babashov lost to Asian champion and world third Islami Bahramov of Uzbekistan in the qualifying stage based on the last point principle (3:3).

Farid Khalilov defeated Byeonggi Seo of Korea with a score of 6:0, but lost to Leri Abuladze, the world and European champion from Georgia, in the 1/4 final based on the first point principle (1:1).

Sanan Suleymanov defeated Aleksa Ilic of Serbia (4:0) and Alexandrin Gutu of Moldova (8:0) and advanced to the 1/4 final.

Ulvi Ganizade defeated Antonio Kamenyasevic of Croatia (1:1) and Hyeonjin Kang of Korea (3:3) and advanced to the 1/4 final.

In the 1/4 final, Ulvi did not appear on the mat in the match with Sanan, so Suleymanov qualified for the semi-final. Sanan lost to Sergey Kutuzov (UWW) of Russia 6:8 in the semi-final and will wrestle Levente Levai of Hungary for a bronze medal in the evening session.

Gurban Gurbanov did not appear in the match with Mikhail Bradu of Moldova in the qualifying stage due to injury and withdrew from the competition.

Murad Ahmadiev defeated Abdulkadir Chebi of Turkey (3:1), Uros Krstin of Serbia (9:0) and Giorgi Katsanashvili of Georgia (8:0) and advanced to the semi-final. Murad lost to Giorgi Melia of Georgia 1:5 in the semi-final and will wrestle Iliya Yermolenko (UWW) of Russia for a bronze medal in the evening session.

Arif Niftullayev defeated Nitesh Nitesh of India (9:0) and Yussuf Matsiyev of Kazakhstan (2:2), but lost to Giorgi Melia of Georgia (pin) in the 1/4 final, and to Iliya Yermolenko of Russia (3:3) in the consolation match.
