The Azerbaijani national beach wrestling team is doing its best to achieve the best results in all competitions.
"Report" reports that the head coach of the team, Oyan Nazariani, said this in an interview with the press service of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.
He talked about the Azerbaijani championship held in July:
"The Azerbaijan championship was held again after a two-year break. This championship was held in 2 age groups - U17 and adults. Unlike previous championships, for the first time, winners in beach wrestling were determined among women as well. Many participants attended the competition. Our expectations were met. Our main goal in holding this championship was to start preparations for the Youth Summer Olympic Games, which will be held next year, earlier, and to identify a large base of wrestlers for the national team, involve them in training processes, and prepare for competitions.
The expert shared his thoughts on the upcoming competitions:
"Immediately after the end of the championship, we involved the wrestlers in the national team. We started with one daily training session. I started by familiarizing our new athletes with the rules of beach wrestling, the type of training, and training disciplines. Then we started the first training camp of this year. First of all, we gave priority to general physical and functional training. Although the training camp will end on August 30, our training will continue until the competitions. First, we will go to Casablanca, Morocco, to participate in the stage competition of the World Series with a team of adults. Immediately after returning from there, we will start the final training camp for the U17 World Championship. Here we will also work on agility and tactics. We still have time. We will try to improve more and perform well in the competition as much as possible."
Oyan Nazariani revealed his expectations from the athletes:
"I am not in favor of being too ambitious before the competition. Each competition has its own characteristics. In any case, we do our best to achieve the best results in all competitions. We train accordingly. The results we will achieve, the quality of the medals, will be determined by the conditions on the day of the competition - the performance of the wrestlers, the opponents. We hope to achieve high results in the U17 World Championship. Although we will participate with few wrestlers in the World Series, we are also candidates to win a medal in this competition."
