"I don't want to count the tournaments I've missed anymore. I'm counting the days I'll be back."
Idman.biz reports that Anna Bashta, a member of the Azerbaijani national fencing team, wrote about this on her social media account.
The sabre fencer, who is undergoing a recovery process after a serious injury, emphasized the World Fencing Championships starting in Tbilisi and noted that sports taught her a lot: "It's the 5th time already... I'm not participating in the competition. Doctors don't allow it. It's not allowed. It's too early. Sport teaches me to fight. Now it teaches me to wait. I know the weight of my sword and medals exactly. Sport gave me strong muscles and fragile dreams. Now it is giving me a lesson harder than any final."
It should be noted that Bashta, who injured her leg during the World Cup in Greece in March, underwent surgery.
