Amirreza Masoumi Explains Reasons for Choosing Azerbaijani National Team: Not Financial Factor, But Professional Approach and Sincere Attitude Were Decisive

Wrestler Amirreza Masoumi, originally from Iran and planning to continue his sports career in Azerbaijan, does not associate his decision to join the Azerbaijani national team with financial factors.

Idman.Biz reports that the 21-year-old wrestler stated these words in a post on his personal "Instagram" account.

He explained the reason for choosing the Azerbaijani national team with these words:

"From today, a new stage begins in my sports career. I am now a member of the Azerbaijani national team and will work for the success of this country from now on. Unfortunately, it is claimed in social media that the main reason for this transition is financial issues. However, these claims are not true. It is true that I had received high-value offers from various countries, but Azerbaijan's professional approach to sports, the presence of our legendary figures and friends in wrestling here, as well as the sincere and respectful attitude shown from the first day played a decisive role in my decision. I believe that the current conditions and the special attention paid to sports in Azerbaijan will allow me to achieve greater success in the continuation of my professional career."

The wrestler expressed his gratitude to the coaches who played a big role in his achievements so far:

"Until the age of 21, I was a member of the Iranian national team and proudly carried the flag of the country where I was born and raised on my shoulders. During this period, I won gold medals in the world championships up to the ages of 17, 20 and 23, as well as in the Asian championships. I express my sincere gratitude to all the coaches who played a big role in these achievements and to everyone who supported me."

Amirreza Masoumi emphasized that he will mobilize all his opportunities for the further development of Azerbaijani wrestling:

"I would like to express my gratitude to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation for the great trust they have placed in me. I sincerely thank the people of Azerbaijan for their sincere and warm welcome. In response to this trust, I will work with all my strength and mobilize all my attention and efforts to achieve success for my country in the international arena."
