Six-time world champion and two-time Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev will not participate in the 2025 World Wrestling Championships, which will be held in Zagreb, Croatia from September 13 to 21.
İdman.biz reports this with reference to the press service of the International Wrestling Federation (UWW).
Abdulrashid Sadulaev was included in the list of wrestlers who received permission from UWW to participate in the competition. However, the athlete was unable to obtain a Schengen visa in time to enter the country where the tournament is being held. In the tournament, in the 97 kg weight category, he will be replaced by Russian Magomed Kurbanov, the silver medalist of the 2021 World Championship.
It should be noted that Sadulaev is the current world champion in the 92 kg weight category. In the final fight, he defeated American David Taylor, the 2020 Olympic champion, with a score of 7:0.
