All the rivals of Azerbaijani national karateka Irina Zaretska (68 kg) at the World Games to be held in Chengdu, China, have been determined.
Idman.biz reports that eight athletes will compete in each weight category in karate.
The first qualifications for the World Games were given to karatekas at the World Championship held in Budapest in 2023, and Zaretska won the champion title for the third time in a row at that competition. Her opponent in the final, Elena Quirici (Switzerland), and the bronze medalist of the World Championship, Seiko Zefanya (Indonesia), will also compete in China.
The remaining participants were determined based on the ranking. These are Eda Eltemur (Turkey), Hadir Hendi (Egypt), Kama Tsubasa (Japan), Giaogiao Li (China) and Thalia Sombeur (France).
It should be noted that the World Games will be held on August 7-17.
