Aleksander Volkanovski defeated Russian Movsar Evloyev in the main event of the "UFC 333" tournament held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Idman.Biz reports that the fight for the lightweight championship belt, organized at the "Etihad Arena", ended with the Australian athlete's victory.
Volkanovski retained his title by defeating his opponent by technical knockout in the 54th second of the fourth minute of the second round.
Although Evloyev resisted with his wrestling skills in the first round, the champion took the upper hand in the second part. The Australian, continuing his attack, took his opponent down and ended the match early with consecutive strikes.
This result came an end to Evloyev's undefeated streak of 20 fights in his professional MMA career.
Meanwhile, 38-year-old Volkanovski set a new record, surpassing Jose Aldo in the number of victories in title fights in the UFC's lightweight division.
