French biathlete and world champion Julia Simon has been suspended from competitions for fraud.
İdman.Biz reports that the Disciplinary Committee of the French Ski Federation (FFS) has released information about this.
She has been suspended from all competitions for six months, five of which are conditional. The athlete's punishment came into effect on November 7.
It was determined that the 29-year-old biathlete stole bank cards from two teammates on the French national team in 2021-2022 and used them for online shopping.
For this reason, she received a three-month suspended prison sentence and a fine of 15,000 euros (29,341 AZN) in October.
It should be noted that Julia Simon is a 10-time world champion in relay races.
