UEFA is discussing the participation of the Belarus national team in the European Futsal Championship, which will be held in Riga (Latvia) and Kaunas (Lithuania) in 2026, with the Latvian and Lithuanian football federations.
QOL.az reports that the organization has issued a statement in this regard: "We would like to inform you that the Belarus national team has passed the qualifying round and will participate in the final stage. We are in contact with both host associations regarding this issue."
It should be noted that previously, the head of the Latvian Football Federation, Vadim Lyashenko, and the President of the Lithuanian Football Federation, Edgaras Stankevicius, opposed the participation of the Belarus national team in the tournament. They stated that they did not plan to allow Belarusian athletes into their countries.
