UEFA objected to a minute of silence, while the national teams...

A sensitive incident occurred before the Ukraine-Romania match in the qualifying round of the European Futsal Championship.

GOL.az reports that a few days before the match held in Koszalin, Poland, the Ukrainian Futsal Association appealed to UEFA, requesting permission to commemorate the innocent civilians who recently died in Sumy as a result of Russian missile fire. However, the continental football body rejected the request for a minute of silence twice.

Nevertheless, it was possible to commemorate the victims before the game. This time, the Ukrainian futsal players personally appealed to the Romanian national team. The opposing team supported this initiative.

Thus, the memory of the victims was honored during the game. After the referee's starting whistle, as soon as the ball was put into play, the futsal players and coaches stood still in their places and commemorated the victims.

It should be noted that the game ended with a 3:1 victory for Ukraine.
