The Republic Championship with the participation of local trotter horses was organized in Gabala.
IdmanBiz reports that horsemen and horse lovers from various regions of Azerbaijan participated in the competition.
The championship was memorable with intense and exciting moments. According to the results of the races, the horse named "Dul-Dul", representing Mashtaga (Baku), took the first place, and the horse named "Kaharxan", representing Yurd (Ganja), took the second place.
The event was organized to preserve local horse breeding traditions and increase interest in this field.
It should be noted that trotter horses have been an integral part of Azerbaijani horse breeding culture since ancient times. These horses are distinguished by their unique "trotting gait" - that is, a smooth, rhythmic and stable stepping ability. During the trotting gait, the horse's movement is smooth and comfortable for the rider, which makes them ideal for both racing and long-distance rides.
The breeding of trotter horses in various regions of Azerbaijan - especially in Gabala, Sheki, Ganja and Karabakh - is based on ancient traditions. They are protected not only in sports competitions, but also as a living example of folk culture, being displayed at folklore events, national holidays and ceremonies.
