A joint training on "Specific Aspects of Results Management" was held for members of the Anti-Doping Disciplinary and Appeal Committees, with the initiative of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) and the organization of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Idman.biz reports that the training was held with the participation of a delegation led by Michal Rinkovski, director of the Polish Anti-Doping Agency (POLADA), chairman of the Monitoring Group of the Council of Europe Anti-Doping Convention.
The main goal of the event is to increase the professional and practical knowledge of committee members in the results management process in accordance with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) international standards, to correctly apply procedural rules in decision-making, and to ensure a fair and transparent approach in proceedings related to anti-doping rule violations.
During the training, participants gained practical knowledge covering important topics such as procedural rules to be applied within the framework of proceedings on anti-doping rule violations, frequently occurring violations in practice, especially location information violations, forgery or attempted forgery, cases of contamination, aggravating circumstances, cases where the athlete is not at fault or the fault is minor. During the sessions, legal approaches based on international experience were widely explained, referring to precedent decisions of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Participants were also informed about the additions and changes proposed by WADA to the World Anti-Doping Code and international standards, which are planned to be adopted at the end of this year.
The speakers presented the approaches applied in the Polish anti-doping system and their real work experience. The sessions were organized on the basis of interactive presentations, live discussions and analysis of real cases.
At the question-and-answer session held at the end of the training, participants strengthened their knowledge by conducting practical discussions on real events.
