Within the framework of the "State Program on socio-economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023–2027," the sports infrastructure in the region is being expanded.
The local bureau of "Report" reports that Emil Samadov, an employee of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, informed journalists about this.
According to him, improving the population's access to sports services, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and effectively organizing young people's leisure time are among the goals of the program.
"At the end of last year, simple-type outdoor sports facilities were put into operation in 8 different areas of the city of Nakhchivan. Currently, in accordance with the Detailed Action Plan of the State Program covering 2025–2027, it is planned to install this type of sports facilities in 11 more places by the end of this year," said Emil Samadov.
The new facilities will be built in 2 locations each in the cities of Sharur and Ordubad, 1 each in the cities of Babek, Julfa, and Shahbuz, and 1 each in the villages of Heydarabad in the Sadarak region, Kivrag in the Kangarli region, Jahri and Nehram in the Babek region. Areas have already been identified based on agreements with local executive authorities, and design and preliminary evaluation work has been completed, and the state procurement procedure has been launched.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late July.
"One of our main goals is to create equal sports opportunities in all regions. These projects, directly implemented by our state, will add value to the sports environment of the autonomous republic, give impetus to the development of physical education and sports, make a significant contribution to encouraging a healthy lifestyle for the population and increasing the physical fitness of young people," said Emil Samadov.
