The official parade of teams participating in the "President's Cup-2025" international regatta in rowing, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, took place.
Idman.biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that teams from Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan participated in the parade organized in the city center.
At the end of the parade, which was greeted with great enthusiasm by the residents of the city, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
After the official part, various dance and musical performances were presented. Tournament participants joined the ensemble in dancing.
Then, the President of the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation Vugar Ahmadov, the President of the European Canoe Association (ECA) Jan Zungrana, the Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Power Ilham Ismayilov, the heads of foreign federations participating in the tournament, and representatives of the sports community visited the monument to the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid flowers in front of it, and expressed their respect for the memory of the National Leader.
On April 30, the official opening ceremony of the "President's Cup-2025" international regatta and races at a distance of 200 meters will be held in Sugovushan, another beautiful corner of Karabakh. The regatta will continue on May 1-2 at the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir. Here, teams will compete in various distances in the kayak, canoe and academic types of rowing.
On May 2, the closing ceremony of the regatta will be held in front of the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir. At the closing ceremony, the winners will be awarded first. Cups for kayak-canoe and academic rowing will be presented to their owners. Then the event will continue with an artistic part. Various show programs, performances by well-known dance groups and a concert program will give the audience a real festive atmosphere during the artistic part. The regatta will traditionally end with fireworks.
It should be reminded that the "President's Cup" regatta has been included in the official calendar plan of the European Canoe Association (ECA) for the third year in a row.
