The International Skating Union (ISU) has launched an investigation into Chinese figure skaters Jen Cunfei and Xin Ziyin following the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Chongqing.
According to İdman.Biz, citing the Associated Press, the investigation stems from an incident after the skaters' free skate. In the incident, the skaters held a toy in the shape of a DF-61 ballistic missile in the "kiss and cry" zone.
According to the ISU, the toy was allegedly thrown onto the ice by spectators after the performance. The organization called the incident "unacceptable" and launched an internal investigation.
The DF-61 missile is a new nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile that China displayed at a military parade in Beijing in September of this year.
