Goal from 96 meters: Goalkeeper's world record

As Tom King prepared to strike, the wind seemed to whistle across the field. What happened next etched his name in football history forever.

According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, the "Newport" goalkeeper sent the ball directly from his own penalty area into the "Cheltenham" goal.

The projectile traveled a distance of 96.01 meters - something never seen before in football history.

The record-breaking goal was recorded in a match in the English fourth division.

Previously, the longest pass was considered to be a goal scored by Bosnian Asmir Begović in 2013 from 91.9 meters into the "Southampton" goal.

Witnesses to the moment were stunned: the ball, as if controlled by an invisible force, crossed half the field, bounced in front of the goal line, and flew under the crossbar.

Tom himself later admitted that he didn't immediately understand what had happened - he simply performed a standard strike from the goalkeeper's area.

Even those far from football began to talk about the incredible moment.

This was a rare fame for the fourth division that went beyond the boundaries of their modest stadiums.

Although the game ended in a 1:1 draw, the final score faded into the background. "Newport" remained second in the standings, and "Cheltenham" remained sixth.

For Tom King, the strike was not just a goal, but a moment that turned an ordinary game into a legend. Now his name is in the Guinness Book of Records, and the video of the goal has been viewed millions of times - football sometimes makes history in the most unexpected places.
