The Gabala-Khankendi Ultramarathon has started.
According to the North-West Bureau of "Report", an event was held in Gabala city before the marathon.
The event was attended by the Head of the Gabala District Executive Authority Sabuhi Abdullayev, members of parliament, and representatives of the public.
It was stated at the ceremony that the youth strategy initiated by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev. It was brought to attention that Gabala hosts international events today - summit meetings, meetings, summits and forums, and international sports competitions with the participation of heads of state. It was emphasized that Gabala was also selected as the "Youth Capital" of the CIS in 2025.
The "Gabala-Khankendi Ultramarathon", which started in front of the Gabala City Culture Center, covers a distance of 192 km.
The first stage of the marathon, which consists of four stages, will be Gabala-Agdash, the second stage will be Agdash-Barda, the third stage will be Barda-Agdam, and the last, fourth stage will be the Agdam-Khankendi route.
About 100 runners from 6 countries - Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine - are participating in the Gabala-Khankendi marathon.
It should be noted that the "Gabala-Khankendi Ultramarathon" will end on April 13 in Khankendi.
