It is reported that the International Skating Union (ISU) has not confirmed the transfer of Russian figure skater Veronika Zhilina to the Azerbaijani team.
İdman.biz, referring to Sputnik Azerbaijan, reports that although Zhilina has not performed for the Russian national team in the last two years, the main criterion for the ISU is the lack of official consent from the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFFFR).
The change of sports citizenship of the figure skater, who received Azerbaijani citizenship a few days ago, has not been approved by the FFFFR.
The main negotiations regarding Zhilina's issue are expected to take place on the eve of or during the Grand Prix tournament in figure skating among young people, which will be held in Baku on September 24–27. The ISU leadership has also been invited to this competition.
