The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has declared April 17, 2026 as World Fair Play Day. According to Sport24.az, this significant day dedicated to the values of clean sport aims to strengthen the global fight against doping and increase awareness among athletes and the sports community.
The Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA), joining WADA's initiative, has declared the period from April 15 to May 15, 2026 as "Fair Sport Month" in our country.
It was reported that this year's Fair Play Day will be celebrated under the slogan "Fair competition starts with you." WADA recommends widespread promotion on digital platforms and calls for sharing posts with the hashtag #PlayTrueDay.
Within the framework of "Fair Sport Month – 2026", AMADA plans to organize social media campaigns, conduct awareness-raising events in the regions, organize meetings in educational institutions, and implement various projects in cooperation with sports federations. The implementation of public advocacy projects is also planned.
It should be noted that WADA has been celebrating Fair Sport Day every April since 2014. This day, which is held on different dates, falls on April 17 in 2026 and has been widely celebrated internationally for 12 years.
