The first national beach rugby championship among teenagers was held at the "Aquatic Palace."
Idman.biz reports that the competition, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Rugby Federation, and "Konfrans Services," was attended by the clubs "Qarabağ", "Shamakhi OM", "EAS Simurgh" and "Dunya Warriors."
Although the games were held in a tense and principled atmosphere, the young rugby players gave pleasant moments to the audience gathered in the arena by fighting in a gentlemanly manner, which is one of the basic principles of this sport.
The winner of the first national championship was the newly established "EAS Simurgh" rugby club under the European Azerbaijan School. In the final, they defeated "Qarabağ" rugby players, who had already become their principal rivals. Brody Riddell's successful attempt in the last seconds brought his team gold medals and the cup.
In the match for the 3rd place, the "Dunya Warriors" club, operating under the "Dunya School", and the team of the Shamakhi Olympic Center demonstrated a real fight. In the last seconds, the representatives of Baku managed to escape defeat with Ibrahim Alizade's attempt, and as a result, the winner had to be determined by the principle of "golden point". Here, the "knights" were more successful and won bronze medals.
Ismail Salmanov, a member of "Shamakhi OM" and our U-12 national team, was awarded the title of the best player of the national championship and won a rugby ball as a special gift.
