Cooperation memorandum signed at National Olympic Committee

A cooperation memorandum has been signed between the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan (NOC) and the Azerbaijan Republic Film Agency. "Report" informs that the signing ceremony held in the administrative building of the National Olympic Committee was attended by Vice-President of the NOC Chingiz Huseynzade, Secretary General Azer Aliyev, Head of the Sports Department of the NOC Hasanaga Rzayev, Press Secretary Murad Farzaliyev, Acting Director General of the Azerbaijan Film Agency Orkhan Sadigov, Head of the Department of Analysis and Strategic Development of the Audiovisual Industry Rufat Garazade, member of the Board of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan, Academician of the Eurasian Television and Radio Academy Arzu Gulamov. The cooperation memorandum envisages joint promotion of the country's sports and sports achievements through cinema between the National Olympic Committee and the Azerbaijan Film Agency. The main purpose of signing the memorandum is to support and develop initiatives for writing scripts for feature and documentary films on sports and Olympism in Azerbaijani cinema, shooting short and full-length films, holding a permanent international sports film festival, promoting sports films, a healthy lifestyle, and the principles of Olympism to citizens living in different regions of Azerbaijan and liberated territories, and organizing discussions and meetings. Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-President of the NOC Chingiz Huseynzade said that sports films are received with interest in our country. "We, as the National Olympic Committee, started this work a long time ago. A number of films have been shot about our Olympic champions and shown in the capital and regions. Showing such films together with Olympic champions in the liberated territories is included in our plan for this year. We must try to introduce our champions to the young generation. In the field of film, the topic of "women in sports" is always of interest. Today there are women who have achieved great success in sports and in life. It would also be interesting to film their life path. In a word, the topics are rich. I believe that we will be able to carry out effective work together from now on." Acting Director General of the Azerbaijan Film Agency Orkhan Sadigov noted the necessity of shooting sports-themed films. The official of the institution emphasized that the "Turan" Film Festival will be held in Lachin city. Orkhan Sadigov also spoke about the importance of creating a series of documentary films about athletes who reached the peak of martyrdom in the Patriotic War. After the speeches, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade and Acting Director General of the Azerbaijan Film Agency Orkhan Sadigov signed a cooperation memorandum. At the end of the ceremony, a souvenir photo was taken.
