Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of former Manchester United and England midfielder David Beckham, has made a harsh statement against his parents on social media amid a long-standing dispute over the family's excessive media coverage.
İdman.Biz reports that David and Victoria's 26-year-old eldest son has issued a statement refusing to reconcile with his family and stating that he is defending his rights for the first time in his life.
"I have been silent for years and have done my best to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team continue to publicize all of this in the press. I have no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about some of the lies that have been published. I do not want to reconcile with my family. No one controls me, and for the first time in my life, I am fighting for my rights. Ostentatious posts on social media, family events, and insincere relationships have been an integral part of the life I was born into," Brooklyn Beckham wrote on his social media account.
He also criticized his father, saying that he came to Great Britain to celebrate David's 50th birthday, but repeated requests for a meeting would only be granted if Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz, was not invited.
It was previously reported that Brooklyn had blocked his parents on social media because even their liking of his posts caused public discussions about his relationship with his wife. The younger Beckham has also urged his parents to communicate with him only through lawyers.
