On March 18-19, 2026, Azerbaijan will host the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Regional Symposium for Europe.
Idman.biz reports that the event to be held in Baku will replace WADA's annual traditional symposium and will be part of regional events to be held on four continents.
The Baku symposium will bring together anti-doping organizations, government representatives, international sports organizations, athletes and their representatives from the European region. The main goal of the event is to discuss regional challenges related to the implementation of the new World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards, which will come into force in 2027.
The event will focus on updates on changes to the World Anti-Doping Code and Standards, the obligations of national anti-doping organizations and the joint cooperation of interested parties. Also, presentations based on real experiences, interactive sessions, exchange of views with the participation of athletes and government representatives will be held. In addition, discussions are planned on awareness-raising, capacity building and strengthening partnerships.
The symposium will be an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience for the countries of the region. The event, which will be held within the framework of the support program for the implementation of the World Anti-Doping Code, will make a significant contribution to the future development of anti-doping activities in the European region.
