The next meeting of the AMADA Supervisory Board has been held.
Idman.biz reports that the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) was held under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Board, Member of Parliament Nigar Arpadarai.
The main goal of the Supervisory Board, established in October 2023, is to increase transparency in AMADA's activities, implement accountable management mechanisms and ensure compliance with international standards.
At the meeting, a presentation was heard on AMADA's activities during the first six months of 2025. The Executive Director of the Agency, Tahmina Taghi-zade, made a speech and gave detailed information about the report. She provided extensive information about the measures taken, the work done and the results achieved during the reporting period.
Members of the Supervisory Board exchanged views on the agenda items and made a number of decisions. The report for the first half of 2025 was discussed, and the positive dynamics observed in the main areas of activity were particularly emphasized. It was decided that the current dynamics should be maintained and the sustainability of the ongoing reforms should be ensured.
The meeting also discussed AMADA's initiative to host the annual European symposium of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 2026. The Supervisory Board assessed this initiative as a new and important stage in the Agency's international activities. It was stated that this step demonstrates Azerbaijan's active participation in the global anti-doping movement and its importance to clean sports.
AMADA aims to continue its activities in the coming period based on the principles of transparency and accountability. The Supervisory Board will contribute to this process by monitoring and directing it.
