Idman.biz reports that this was said by Aygul Agayeva, head of security and operations of the Baku City Circuit Operating Company, at the first press conference dedicated to the CIS Games.
She touched upon the possible problems among athletes in connection with the Russia-Ukraine war: "Sport does not interfere in politics. When our country hosts international events, it prepares an action plan without taking into account political issues. But the intervention of athletes is envisaged within the framework of security measures. Appropriate measures will be taken to prevent any conflict between athletes from countries with political conflicts with each other, as well as from other countries."
It should be noted that the competitions will be held in 12 sports facilities in 23 sports.
