Points collected in the leagues will determine the judokas' ranking.
"Report" informs that this was stated by Kamran Talibov, Deputy Secretary General and Sports Director of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, at a press conference organized in connection with the newly created leagues.
The official of the organization spoke about the purpose of the newly created leagues:
"One of the main goals in creating the leagues is that the points collected will be important in the formation of national teams. Coaches of the Azerbaijani national team will participate in these competitions. Points collected in the leagues will determine the judokas' ranking. A prize fund has been allocated for the athletes. It will be presented directly to them. In addition, support will be provided to the clubs."
It should be noted that judo leagues will be held in 3 age groups. Only men will participate in the adults, and both boys and girls will participate in the U-17 and U-14 leagues.
The composition of the national teams will be determined not only on the basis of the Azerbaijan championship or championships, but also on the basis of internal competitions held throughout the year, as well as the rating points collected in these leagues.
