The names of the participating countries in the "President's Cup 2025" international regatta, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, from April 28 to May 2, have been announced.
Idman.biz reports that more than 200 athletes from 20 countries from Europe, Asia and Africa - Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan will test their strength in the competition, which will be organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (ACRF).
On April 28, within the framework of the "President's Cup 2025" international regatta, there will be exemplary performances of rowers in the Kondalanchay water reservoir located in Fuzuli, Karabakh. Also, residents moving to Fuzuli will be given the opportunity to row in boats intended for amateurs under the supervision of professional coaches. Motivational quizzes will be organized for children and teenagers.
The official parade of the regatta and the presentation of the teams will be held on April 29 in Mingachevir city, Heydar Aliyev Avenue. The next day, the official opening ceremony of the "President's Cup-2025" international regatta and competitions at a distance of 200 meters will take place in Sugovushan, another charming corner of Karabakh.
The regatta will continue on May 1-2 at the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir. Teams will compete in kayak, canoe and academic types.
On May 2, the closing ceremony of the "President's Cup-2025" international regatta will be held in front of the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir. At the closing ceremony, the winners will be awarded first. Cups for kayaking-canoeing and academic rowing will be presented to their owners. Then the ceremony will continue with the artistic part. In the artistic part, various show programs, dance groups and a concert program will give the audience a real festive atmosphere. The regatta will traditionally end with magnificent fireworks.
It should be noted that the "President's Cup" regatta has been included in the official calendar plan of the European Canoe Association (ECA) for the third year in a row.
