Azerbaijani judoka Zelim Tckayev (81 kg) valued the bronze medal he won at the World Championship held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Sport24.az reports that the national team member spoke about this to the press service of the Judo Federation.
"My impressions are great. I am very happy and glad. This medal is very valuable to me. For me, it is equal to a gold medal. Because this is the first medal I have won in world championships. We developed a plan together with the coaches and it worked successfully. I think we did a good job. The match for the bronze medal went well and I won. I had the opportunity to win in the semi-finals. But it turned out that way. It happened that my opponent surpassed me."
He stated that he wants to win a gold medal at the World Championship to be held in Baku next year:
"The World Championship will be held in Baku next year and I will take advantage of all opportunities to win a gold medal. The federation management congratulated me and supported me as always. I dedicate the victory to my family, Azerbaijan, the federation, all the medical staff, coaches, and everyone who has been with me on this path. Because they have given me everything. My next goal is to go home and relax with my wife and children."
It should be noted that Tckayev defeated UAE representative Nugzari Tatalashvili in the match for the bronze medal at the World Championship.
