Another young Azerbaijani judoka has qualified for the 1/4 finals at the World Championships in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
According to a "Report" employee assigned to the tournament, Zeyd Alasgarov (60 kg) advanced to this round by defeating two opponents.
Royal Gayibov (60 kg) lost in the 1/32 finals. Narmin Agamirzazade (48 kg) lost in the first match, which coincided with the 1/16 finals.
Aysun Mammadova (52 kg) and Leyla Alakbarova, who started the competition from the 1/32 finals, had to reconcile with defeat in the 1/8 finals.
It should be noted that six Azerbaijani judokas joined the fight yesterday. Anar Guliyev (50 kg) won a bronze medal.
Individual competition in the tournament will end on August 30. On August 31, a mixed team competition will take place.
