Azerbaijani judoka Zelim Tckaev (81 kg) lost in the semi-finals of the World Championship held in Budapest, Hungary.
"Report" informs that Tckaev, who defeated Chinese Tsyanqnan Wan in the 1/16 finals, was superior to Brazilian Luan Almeida in the 1/8 finals.
Although the Azerbaijani judoka defeated Japanese Yoonvan Li in the 1/4 finals, he lost to Georgian Tato Grigalashvili in the semi-finals. Thus, Tckaev will fight for a bronze medal.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by 13 judokas (9 men, 4 women) in 10 weight categories in the individual competitions at the World Cup. Our team will also compete in the mixed team competition. Our judokas have not yet won a medal in the tournament.
