Winners of the U-17 Judo Northern Region Championship Announced - PHOTO

The Northern Region Championship among U-17 juniors was held on September 13.

Idman.biz reports that 63 judokas (57 boys, 6 girls) from 7 clubs from Gusar, Guba, Khachmaz, Shabran and Siyazan competed in the tournament.

The winners and awardees in 7 weight categories were determined at the competition held at the Khachmaz Olympic Sports Complex.

It should be noted that the purpose of holding regional championships is to form a base of young judokas and to determine the athletes who will participate in the national championship based on quotas. Also, the U-17 championships provide important ranking points for selection to the national team.
