The European Open Tournament (Warsaw European Open 2026) among adults in judo, held in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, will conclude today. On the second - last day of the competition, five more Azerbaijani judokas will compete for awards.
Idman.Biz reports that Khayyam Aliyev and Nihad Shikhalizade (both 90 kg) will test their strength among men on the last day of the tournament. Aliyev's opponent is Frenchman Aleksa Mitrovic, and Shikhalizade's opponent is Den Hartog Floris from the Netherlands.
Elmar Gasimov (100 kg) will face Polish representative Mateusz Waczko. Jamal Feyziyev, who will compete in the +100 kg weight category, will fight against German representative Marvin Belz.
In the women's competition, Gulnara Bayramova (57 kg) will clarify relations with Malina Klaret Wilson (Spain).
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team won one medal on the first day of the tournament. Tofig Mammadov, who competed in the 66 kg weight category, won a bronze medal. 320 athletes from 27 countries participate in the competition, in which we are represented by a total of 19 judokas.
