The European Judo Cup among youth held in Mostoles, Spain, was memorable for the Azerbaijani national team with one medal. One of the athletes representing our country in the international tournament managed to rise to the honorary podium.
Idman.Biz reports that Vusala Hajiyeva, competing in the 57 kg weight category, performed successfully and won the silver medal of the competition. Although she confidently advanced to the decisive stage, she lost in the final match and finished the competition in second place.
The Azerbaijani national team was represented by a total of six judokas in this prestigious tournament. Although our other athletes did not manage to be among the prize winners, they gained international experience.
