Azerbaijan's heavyweight representatives have joined the competition on the final day of the Judo Grand Prix tournament held in Linz, Austria. Ushangi Kokauri, a member of our national team, pleased the fans by starting the tournament with a victory.
İdman.Biz reports that Kokauri, competing in the +100 kg weight category, faced Polish representative Jakub Sordil in the 1/16 final stage. During the tense match, our judoka gained the advantage by scoring a waza-ari. Ushangi maintained this advantage until the end of the match, defeating his opponent and qualifying for the 1/8 finals.

The Judo Grand Prix tournament organized in Linz, Austria, concludes today. On the last day of the competition, two heavyweight representatives of the Azerbaijani national team are entering the fight for medals.
İdman.Biz reports that our athletes, testing their strength in the +100 kg weight category, will start the competition from the 1/16 final stage. Jamal Gamzatkhanov will face British representative Wesley Greenidge. Our other judoka, Ushangi Kokauri, will test his strength against Polish Jakub Sordil.
The qualifying round fights will start at 13:00 Baku time. The final block, where the medal matches will be held, will start at 20:00.
