The Baku Championship among U-17 juniors in judo has concluded.
Idman.Biz reports that the names of the medalists in 5 more weight categories became clear on the last day of the competition.
A total of 587 athletes (485 boys, 102 girls) from 61 clubs and sports societies of the capital tested their strength in the tournament held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
The purpose of the competition is to form a base of young judokas and to determine the athletes who will participate in the national championship based on quotas. The U-17 Baku Championship also provided important ranking points for selection to the national team.
