The judokas who will represent Azerbaijan at the European Youth Championship to be held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, have been determined.
"Report" reports that the national team will compete in the continental championship with 13 athletes (9 boys, 4 girls) in 10 weight categories. The national team will compete in the mixed team competition on the last day of the tournament.
The judokas will be led by Rustam Alimli, the head coach of the young men's team, coach Elkhan Rajabli, Amina Abdellatif, the head coach of the young women's team, and senior coach Sasha Herkenrat-Vimar.
In the boys' competition, Nihad Mamishov, Farid Garayev (both 60 kg), Muhammad Musayev, Nizami Imranov (both 66 kg), Abil Yusubov (73 kg), Suleyman Shukurov (81 kg), Aslan Kotsoev (90 kg), Davud Namazli (100 kg) and Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) will try to win.
In the girls' competition, Farida Mirzayeva (48 kg), Khadija Gadashova, Aydan Veliyeva (both 52 kg), Nilgun Rzayeva (63 kg) will enter the tatami. Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg) will be in the team for the mixed team competition.
It should be noted that 374 athletes (207 boys, 167 girls) from 42 countries will compete in the European Championship, which will last from September 4 to 7.
