The first round of the "Talent Selection" tournament among U-17 judokas will be held on February 7-8 at the Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex.
Idman.Biz reports that 346 athletes (300 boys, 46 girls) from 73 clubs and sports societies will compete for medals in 14 weight categories.
The purpose of holding the "Talent Selection" tournament is to form a healthy foundation for the national team, identify promising athletes for the national team, and form a sustainable reserve base.
It should be noted that athletes who are in the top 4 in each weight category in the final ranking of 2 rounds will be involved in the "Hopes of the Future" training program.
