"Talent Selection": Results of the first round of the U-16 judo tournament

The first round of the "Talent Selection" tournament among U-16 adolescents, held on February 15, has concluded.

Idman.Biz reports that 117 judokas entered the tatami on the competition day organized at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex. Girls competed in the 44 kg, 52 kg, 63 kg, and +70 kg weight categories, while boys competed in the 55 kg, 66 kg, 81 kg, and +90 kg weight categories.

In total, 302 athletes, including 257 boys and 45 girls from 67 clubs and sports societies, participated in the first round.

The main purpose of the competition is to form a healthy base for the national team, identify promising judokas, and create a reserve force. The athletes who take the first four places in each weight category in the final ranking of the two rounds will be involved in the "Hopes of the Future" program.
