The World Junior Judo Championship started today in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
İdman.biz reports that 6 of our judokas in 3 weight categories joined the competition on the first day of the competition.
Three of them advanced to the 1/4 finals.
Khadija Abdullayeva, Gulshan Huseynova (both 44 kg) won two matches and continue the fight for the medal.
Anar Guliyev (50 kg) defeated Narek Davtyan from Armenia in the 1/8 finals.
Rza Khalil (50 kg) and Rasul Alizadeh (55 kg) lost in the 1/16 finals. Mahammadali Huseynov (55 kg) won in the 1/16 finals and advanced to the next stage.
It should be noted that the individual competitions at the World Championship will continue until August 30. The mixed team competition will take place on August 31.

Rza Khalil will face Tsvetelin Martinov (Bulgaria) in the 1/16 finals.
Anar Guliyev will face the winner of the pair Narek Davtyan (Armenia) / Dikgang Kvadibana (Botswana).
55 kg
Rasul Alizadeh will compete with Badar-Ugan Badamdorj (Mongolia) in the 1/16 finals.
Mahammadali Huseynov will clarify relations with Victor Hugo Silva (Brazil).
