Azerbaijani junior judoka Mahammadali Huseynov (55 kg) reached the semi-finals at the world championship held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.
According to the employee of "Report" sent to the tournament, the athlete defeated Israeli representative Tom Dubrovsky in the 1/4 final stage.
Anar Guliyev participated in the consolation match because he lost in the 1/4 final. Because he won, he will compete for a bronze medal.
Khadija Abdullayeva and Gulshan Huseynova (both 44 kg) were defeated first in the 1/4 finals and then in the consolation duel.
Rza Khalil (50 kg) and Rasul Alizadeh (55 kg) were defeated in the 1/16 finals.
It should be noted that the individual competition at the world championship will end on August 30. The mixed team competition will take place on August 31.
