The 80th anniversary of Ahmadaddin Rajabli, a prominent sports veteran of Azerbaijan, was celebrated.
İdman.biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that Farid Gayibov, the Minister of Youth and Sports, said at the event held in the assembly hall of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy that Rajabli had worked for many years for the development of Azerbaijani sports and played an important role in the training of young athletes. The Minister wished the sports veteran a long and meaningful life and good health.
Chingiz Huseynzade, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee, noted that Rajabli is one of the people who contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in the country.
Then a video was shown about the Honored Coach's rich life, his valuable contributions to sports, and his services in the upbringing of the younger generation.
Rajabli said he was happy to see his fans together on this important day.
Farid Mansurov, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee, noted that A. Rajabli left a great mark on the history of judo and para-judo in Azerbaijan. Zemfira Meftahaddinova, the chairman of the Public Union of Sports Veterans, emphasized that the sports veteran is a noble and beautiful person.
Ilham Zakiyev, a two-time Paralympic champion in para-judo, said that he learned the secrets of sports from Rajabli and expressed his gratitude for it.
