Our athlete won the judo "Grand Slam" tournament held in Abu Dhabi.
Idman.Biz reports that Azerbaijani judoka Ruslan Pashayev, competing in the 66 kg weight category, defeated UAE representative Hamad Matlaei in the 1/16 final stage.
He advanced to the next round by winning with the osaekomi-waza technique (a technique of winning by holding the opponent on his back on the mat and keeping him under control).
